Among her most notable designs is the “Roly-Poly” tumbler line, which became a hallmark of mid-century cocktail culture and remains highly collectible today. She also created the “Atomic Splash” pattern and collaborated with prominent glass manufacturers such as Heisey and Tiffin. Thorpe’s work extended beyond glassware to include ceramics, Lucite objects, and decorative household items. Her designs were widely sold in high-end department stores and became popular among Hollywood clientele during the mid-20th century. Dorothy Thorpe died in California in 1989.
