Constructed of a sturdy plywood back painted gray, it features a 5 inch thick heavy Lucite frame.  The central focus of the piece is a multitude of heavy linen squares, hand-painted in various patterns and in shades of gray, orange and off-white. Individually attached, each square stands out 45 degree angle, with the rows alternating between facing up and down. I removed the Lucite cover to better photograph the piece as well as to painstakingly clean it, inside and out with Novus® Plastic Polish to remove as many of the scratches I could see. It looks phenomenal with no cracks or chips, only very minor wear to frame consistent with age.
