{"title":"Sigi Taxco","description":"\u003cp\u003eSigfrido Pineda (1929-?). The long career of winning Sigfrido Pineda began as a pre-teenager when he spent three years working at Los Castillo. He is cousin to Los Castillo -founder Antonio Castillo. Pineda then worked with Salvador Terán in 1945 in the city of Puebla, and then with Felipe Martínez at Piedra y Plata. He eventually became head of the enameling workshop at Margot de Taxco in 1949 before opening his own shop, Plateros, in 1952. In 1979 the shop was later renamed Sigi. Sigi items stamped with eagle 16 likely were marked at Margot’s to whom eagle 16 was assigned. Pineda’s work reflects great design flow and very creative use of dimension.
