Chris Darway is an artist, metalsmith, teacher and designer with over 40 years’ experience in the field. Formally trained in craft design at The Philadelphia College of Art, he works with traditional metals, wood, plastics and metal clays. His work has been exhibited in Japan, Germany, and England, is a decorated designer, having won the Niche Award at the Smithsonian craft show. Darway has taught jewelry design at the University of Delaware, The University of the Arts Philadelphia, and at Montclair State University in New Jersey. He is a PMC senior instructor for the Rio Grande Company and has been involved with this material since its first introduction. He is also a past president of the Pennsylvania Society of Goldsmiths and currently teaches jewelry at the Wayne Art Center, Peter’s Valley School of Craft, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and numerous other national workshops.
