Collection: Asbjorn Birkelund

Was born in Oslo on May 2nd, 1923. He was trained in gold work from 1942 to 1946 at J. Tostrup and took his journeyman test there in 1947. During training with Tostrup, he attended the Storseths Vocational Trade School in Oslo. Asbjorn studied for 3 additional years at the National College of Art and Design.

After completing his studies at NCAD he completed his craft letters in February of 1950. He registered with the Norwegian Goldsmiths Association the same month. He established his own workshop on February 14th, 1950, in Oslo, under the trade name Asbjorn Birkeland. His workshop was active from 1950 through the 1980's.
