Born in 1942, He is an American studio glass and ceramic artist best known for his innovative, hand-blown art glass and ceramics with distinctive metallic finishes. He was a key figure in the American studio glass movement and is most closely associated with his work at Lundberg Studios in California. Evans began working at Lundberg Studios in the 1960s, where he refined techniques involving iridescent surfaces, vaporized metals, and layered glass forms. In 1970, he became the studio’s design director, a role in which he helped shape the artistic direction and production of some of the most recognizable American art glass of the period. His work is characterized by organic forms, rich color palettes, and signature surface treatments such as pulled feather patterns, iridescent sheens, and metallic inclusions. Many of his pieces are signed and dated, making them highly collectible among art glass enthusiasts. In 1979, Evans left Lundberg Studios to establish his own workshop, where he continued to produce limited-edition art glass and ceramic pieces. His work remains influential within the studio glass and ceramic arts movement and is valued for its craftsmanship, innovation, and artistic individuality.
