Fantastic and rare to find a matching set of YOK's Viking Series jewelry. Made of sterling silver and iolite, this pendant/brooch and matching bracelet are in excellent to like new condition! I have paired the pendant with an Italian caviar style thick chain which seems fitting for this Viking set. (Originally the pendant would have most likely been on leather cord) Iolite is the gem variety of the mineral Cordierite. Cordierite was the stone by which the Vikings navigated the sea, hence its  cleaver use in these stunning sterling jewelry pieces that were inspired by Viking relics stored in the Tromso, Norway Museum. (The stones look very similar to amethyst) Will be professionally polished before shipping. 

Iolite is the gem variety of the mineral Cordierite. It describes the transparent to translucent form of Cordierite, Iolite can be light to deep blue, and usually has a purplish tinge to it. It is named from the Greek "violet", alluding to the purplish tinge often exhibited by this gemstone.
