Superb sterling silver and 18k gold Inca mythical Condor bird. The Condor was sacred to the Incas, as they believed that it communicated with the Heavens and the Gods and connected them to the Earthly World. Wonderful estate find, the pin is sterling silver and adorned with 18k yellow gold decorative accents. Skillfully crafted, much like Laffi's work, it is in excellent condition. It has recently been professionally polished and looks almost new! Included with purchase is a silver converter so it can be worn as a pendant if preferred.

Inca Mythology, Gods and religion: The Inca Trilogy (Andean Trilogy) in the Inca religion. They represent the heavens (Hanan Pacha) where the gods reside, the earth or world of the living (Kay Pacha) where we humans inhabit, and the underworld (Uku Pacha) or the world of the dead.

Hanan Pacha translates to the heavens. It was represented by a condor. The condor was sacred to the Incas. They believed that it communicated and connected the upper world (Hanan Pacha) with the earthly world (Kay Pacha).
