Collection: Hestenes
Kristian M. Hestenes born in 1873, in Goppen in Nordfjord area of Norway. He studied under Theodore Olsen and obtained his license in 1904. The same year he opened his workshop in Bergen. His work won him national awards in 1910 and 1928. After his death the company was run by his wife Lina and sons Magnus J Hestenes (B. 1901 D. 1984) and Olav Martin Hestenes (B.1905 D. 1951) During the late 1930's, the shop employed as many as 35 artists, making it the largest in Bergen. - Courtesy of the book: "Northern Lights - The Beauty of the Forgotten Scandinavian Enamel Jewelry Artists" by Lois Olson and Dwight Olson.
