Collection: Mauro Manettis

Mauro Manetti (1931–2008) was an Italian designer best known for his distinctive mid-century modern barware and decorative objects, particularly those made from aluminum with gold-tone finishes. His work became especially popular during the 1950s through the 1970s and remains highly collectible today.

Manetti was based in Florence, Italy, where he worked as both a designer and manufacturer. He is most closely associated with the company Fonderia d’Arte Firenze, through which many of his designs were produced and distributed internationally.

His pieces are characterized by bold, sculptural forms and luxurious finishes, often transforming everyday objects into playful yet sophisticated statement pieces. Among his most iconic designs are his pineapple-shaped ice buckets, along with apples, pears, and other fruit-form containers, as well as barware accessories and decorative objects.

Manetti’s work reflects the glamour and optimism of mid-century Italian design, blending functionality with decorative appeal. His use of cast aluminum—often plated or finished to resemble gold or brass—allowed for intricate detailing while maintaining durability.

Today, Mauro Manetti’s designs are widely collected and appreciated for their unique aesthetic, craftsmanship, and strong representation of Italian mid-century modern style. His pieces are especially popular among collectors of vintage barware and Hollywood Regency décor.
