Started 1918 (and registered in 1920. Name until 1924 Suomen Kultaseppien Keskus-Oy, since 1961 Hopeakeskus Oy, since 1977 Kultakeskus Oy. Production of silver, silver-plated and new-silver household items such as cutlery, etc. The company's production began in 1921. 1929 they employed a staff of 180, 1948 staff grew to 220, and by 1978 they had a staff of 256 employees. In 1975, the goldsmith company owned by Eino Westerback (originally founded in 1897) merged with the company. Founded and owned by members of the Finnish Goldsmiths' Association. After the war, ownership was concentrated in the Erling, Lindroos and Westerback families. 1955 Eino Westerback became the main owner of Kultakeskus Oy. There have been five different companies named Kultakeskus Oy and/or Hopeakeskus Oy. From 1962 to 1975, Kultakeskus Oy (gold products) operated in Helsinki, and Hopeakeskus Oy in Hämeenlinna was Westerbackie's company, whose business was merged with the company in 1962.
