An absolutely superb piece by the iconic Norwegian designer Østern. Created during the 2 year period he worked for Per Killingmo in Oslo, Norway. This kinetic style design of repetitively put together smaller elements, was experimental and highly expressive. Pulling from the design elements of the Corpus Series he created for David Andersen and bridging the later small scale production of handmade jewelry from Østern’s own workshop, which he ran since 1960, using techniques demanding countless hours of patient work. This piece features a necklace bale and a pinback and has been professionally polished. I have paired it with a hefty small mariner link Italy sterling chain. It is in exceptional condition and a very rare and highly sought after collector's piece.
